 Wave Star Energy is the developer of a matchless wave energy machine for the big oceans
Unlike
any other system in the world, the Wave Star grid connected test
machine has been operating in the sea for 3 years. During that period
it has been through 15 storms without any damage. This is a significant
international milestone in wave energy.
In the light of the
experiences from the test machine the first 500 kW machine has been
under development since 2007. The first section of the 500 kW converter
is launched in the North Sea outside Hanstholm in August 2009.
The
full-scale 500 kW Wave Star converter will later be installed in the
North Sea and the first commercial demonstration system will be ready
for sale in 2010.
The target group for Wave Star Energy is
utility companies and energy developers in big industrial countries and
islands next to the big oceans. The short term focus is on the North
Sea and the Atlantic. In the longer term our focus will also include
the Pacific and Indian Ocean.
